For example, should men advertise on dating sites that they’re looking for a woman who is sweet, good sense of humour,must be able to cook, can make good sammiches, be able to perform like a nympho in the bedroom every night, must do all housework, shouldn’t be over 19 when they meet and must let him have regular threesomes with her friends?

Should women advertise on dating sites that they are a virgin, that they want a usually good man, who buys her everything, lets her stay at home all day, that is not afraid to show his authority over her, must have raped at least 10 women, must have at least two houses and three cars with a swimming pool and takes her on lots of luxury holidays and posh restaurants and that she is open to letting him see other women?

A few years ago, my life was perfect. I had premium cable, luxuries, I was in the easiest grades of school. But now, it seems that my life just caved in. Now, I’m a Christian, I love Jesus Christ, The Holy Spirit, God, etc. For some reason, it all started when Michael Jackson died. It sounds really weird, I know, but it connected somehow with my whole life. When he died, I knew fewthings about him. Wasn’t a fan, nada. But then, everyone was all sad, crying, ya know? The economy seemed to dip further. A few months after Michael passed, my grandfather did too. I wasn’t very close to him, but he was my grandfather, I loved him. After he died, my mom slowly became more and more lazy, fatigued, and depressed. Mind you, for about three years in a row before this, my mother said I couldn’t see my grandmother, who I love dearly. Well, then I just lost focus of everything. My mom started staying home in bed all the time, and it hasn’t been much different since. Right now, I have a very littl. Amount of clothes for school, and although I have an iPod touch, it’s completely cracked, and there’s a virus on it I think. There’s absolutely nothing to eat or drink (except tap water), my mom is sleeping right now. She has no job, she dropped out of college, and she made me get rid of what I call, my “blessing in disguise”. She found a little chihuahua, she was malnourished teeth rotted, etc. He body showed abuse and neglect. As soon as she came in the door she ran over and jumped on my lap. I knew she was going to be my little angel. We kept her, and she was found a week or so before my birthday. My mom said I couldn’t have any presents for my birthday because the et bill would be about $500. I didn’t even care. Now she’s gone. My mom spends the only money we have on cigarettes, she’s rude, self centered, and abusive. I cry every night for hours. I pray, but it doesn’t seem as if anything happens. It feels as if God isn’t watching over me:( I need guidance. Please help me.

Open Question: I’m 13 and is my story opening good?

My teacher told us that readers don’t like starting off with reading “I went down the park on saturday afternoon” and have to wait till half way through the book for some action. She also told us that if you get straight in with an interesting part you can describe the scenery after you have got the reader into the story in the first paragraph and leave them wondering what is going to happen. Anyway I just want to know if you like my story opening because it is homework to write a story opening to do with bulling and she asked us to make sure every word counts in the opening. Also my story is about bulling /child abuse so I have gone a bit of task but I don’t think she will mind because she said we can be adventurous with it! Here is my story! and it had to be half a page long!
Clash, bang, bong.
Any little noise still reminds me of them days. I didn’t have the best start to life but now I am living in a dream world. Happily married, a big house even with a luxury pool and not to forget our four amazing children. Every time I look at them I just want them to have a better life than me, I don’t know what I did to deserve a clout around the ear now and again but it didn’t feel right I felt alone, sad and frightened! It didn’t just happen in school I mean being beat up by the top gang of the school or when I was out with my friends. Now and again I will just sit alone and just think how I could off managed it better but when mum brought home her new boyfriend one day after work in the summer of ninety-four approximately six months after dad died, when I was a mess and so was she, she decided to ruin my life. I told her that she didn’t know what she was doing and she was a making a mistake but she was all loved up and I had to learn how to do the washing up because she couldn’t even be bothered to look after me. She barely talked to me back then even when I needed her most I was abandoned by her and I still decided to live with her, she forgot my birthdays, Christmases and even when I needed help with my options in school I didn’t have her to help me! I remember sitting in a dark room when things went totally wrong for me, well more than normal anyway. I heard a knock at the door while mum was at work. I crept silently down the stairs and slowly opened the door and it was her boyfriend. I slammed the door soon as I saw that ugly face that wrecked our family, but his foot was already blocking me from closing the door.
“Can I come in” he sarcastically asked me.
“Mums at work and you know that” I threw the answer back in that self obsessed face of his!
“It’s you I am here for!” he replied as he slammed the door and dragged me upstairs like a rag doll. He tied me to the old rocking chair in Nan’s old room. I thought I was going to die and I knew this wasn’t going to be the last of him!

Before someone says why does it start with clash bang bong it is because they are the little noises that keep reminding her of what happened.
Hope you enjoyed it and please can you give me some feedback on which bits are not good and which parts are, also it would be nice if you could tell me if this is good for a 13 year old thank you and much appricated.
Thank you ever so much no on ever said my work was that good before and it acctually shocked me. I wrote a story for homework in primary once and our teacher started it off and I had a head teachers award for it, but when I read it now i know it was the work of a primary kid and also i worte another one after that as well which my teacher was amazed at but you can tell it is the work of a primary school kid. and I have started two other storys but i know this one is a lot better, but I did not realise how good it was. I now wonder what my teacher will say monday. Once again thank you xx

I’ve started writing this, and so far I’ve only done about 6 pages, but I’m starting to think that the plot sounds really silly. So anyway…
In our world, everyone has a Guardian angel from their first day of primary (or elementary, for you Americans) school, and they have one right up until their wedding day (or until the person dies of old age if they never marry!), which is when the Guardians retire to the Sky Kingdom for living the rest of their lives in luxury. Angles age just as humans do, but they live for slightly longer, so the Guardian is 5 when their human is, however their brains are developed a lot more than our own. If the Guardian fails to protect their human (basically if the human dies) or if they let their human see them, whether they be in angel or human form, they turn into Fallen angels; they are to never see the Sky Kingdom, and they are given black wings and are forced to live the rest of their lives on earth. The human gets a new Guardian.
All angels can see each other, whether they choose to be visible or not (angels can turn invisible) and they can choose when they want their wings out or not.
Introduce Maleficent, a 12 year old Guardian who has been assigned to Harry. When she saves him from drowning in the sea when he’s on holiday in France she also lets herself be seen to everyone. So she gets turned into a Fallen angel.
5 years later, Harry is 17 and meets Millie when he’s taking pictures of Amy, the girl he likes, doing ballet for his art project. Millie and Amy are friends and Millie tells Harry that Amy likes him. So they organize a ‘date’ at McDonald’s. Harry gets his best friend, Daniel, to come along so it isn’t awkward, so Harry gets Amy to bring Millie along too.
Daniel and Millie really hit it off and before you know it they’re going out. Harry and Amy are getting along fine as well in their relationship.
One night, when Harry is on his way home from a double date he gets attacked, and a winged creature flies down and helps him. But he can’t quite see who it is because he’s got concussion. But Harry doesn’t stop talking about it and he has to see it again.
The following week, Harry and Daniel both almost get mugged (after Harry’s suggestion to hang about a dark alleyway until something bad happens), the winged creature appears again, and when Harry grabs its leg as it tries to fly away, it takes him with it until it stops at an old warehouse. And he discovers it’s Millie! So she confesses everything (about how her real name is Maleficent and the stuff on the beach) and she tells him that his current Guardian, Maxwell, is shifty and isn’t to be trusted and that she’s been looking out for him since she turned into a Fallen angel. She can see Maxwell but Harry can’t.

And they set out to stop him, without the others finding out. But, of course, with all the time they have been spending together, it can’t be good for Daniel or Amy…

Here’s where I need the help!!
What could Maxwell be actually doing that’s bad?? Could he be friends with some group of Fallen Angels and Millie’s seen them all?? And how could they stop him??
If there’s anything that sounds particularly cliched or bad, please let me know how I can change it!!??

I’m writing a paper on the differences between US ads aimed at teen girls, and their UK equivalent. If you watch Skins, or another teen drama: what types of ads are shown between acts?

Specific Questions:
1. Do the ads match the quality of the TV show? Here, TV shows with high budgets (Gossip Girl, or Desperate Housewives) have similarly expensive-looking ads. Low-budget TV shows have cheap-looking ads with bad acting, cheap sets, cheesy music, etc.

2. Do you feel as if you can afford most of what’s advertised during your favorite TV show?

3. Are most of the ads for things you’d really want or need– soap, milkshakes, shoes? Or are they things you can’t afford or don’t need– luxury cars, home insurance, a lawyer?
