I’ve started writing this, and so far I’ve only done about 6 pages, but I’m starting to think that the plot sounds really silly. So anyway…
In our world, everyone has a Guardian angel from their first day of primary (or elementary, for you Americans) school, and they have one right up until their wedding day (or until the person dies of old age if they never marry!), which is when the Guardians retire to the Sky Kingdom for living the rest of their lives in luxury. Angles age just as humans do, but they live for slightly longer, so the Guardian is 5 when their human is, however their brains are developed a lot more than our own. If the Guardian fails to protect their human (basically if the human dies) or if they let their human see them, whether they be in angel or human form, they turn into Fallen angels; they are to never see the Sky Kingdom, and they are given black wings and are forced to live the rest of their lives on earth. The human gets a new Guardian.
All angels can see each other, whether they choose to be visible or not (angels can turn invisible) and they can choose when they want their wings out or not.
Introduce Maleficent, a 12 year old Guardian who has been assigned to Harry. When she saves him from drowning in the sea when he’s on holiday in France she also lets herself be seen to everyone. So she gets turned into a Fallen angel.
5 years later, Harry is 17 and meets Millie when he’s taking pictures of Amy, the girl he likes, doing ballet for his art project. Millie and Amy are friends and Millie tells Harry that Amy likes him. So they organize a ‘date’ at McDonald’s. Harry gets his best friend, Daniel, to come along so it isn’t awkward, so Harry gets Amy to bring Millie along too.
Daniel and Millie really hit it off and before you know it they’re going out. Harry and Amy are getting along fine as well in their relationship.
One night, when Harry is on his way home from a double date he gets attacked, and a winged creature flies down and helps him. But he can’t quite see who it is because he’s got concussion. But Harry doesn’t stop talking about it and he has to see it again.
The following week, Harry and Daniel both almost get mugged (after Harry’s suggestion to hang about a dark alleyway until something bad happens), the winged creature appears again, and when Harry grabs its leg as it tries to fly away, it takes him with it until it stops at an old warehouse. And he discovers it’s Millie! So she confesses everything (about how her real name is Maleficent and the stuff on the beach) and she tells him that his current Guardian, Maxwell, is shifty and isn’t to be trusted and that she’s been looking out for him since she turned into a Fallen angel. She can see Maxwell but Harry can’t.

And they set out to stop him, without the others finding out. But, of course, with all the time they have been spending together, it can’t be good for Daniel or Amy…

Here’s where I need the help!!
What could Maxwell be actually doing that’s bad?? Could he be friends with some group of Fallen Angels and Millie’s seen them all?? And how could they stop him??
If there’s anything that sounds particularly cliched or bad, please let me know how I can change it!!??
