Due to a change in our business direction, the company that I work for is laying me off (my position is being eliminated). There is no chance what-so-ever that my position can be saved, nor is there any chance that I could fill a different position within the company.

My last day is mid-August. However, my work load is so light that I can get everything done in an hour and I’m twiddling my thumbs (or searching job sites looking for a job) for the remaining 7 hours. My entire job can be done over the web, which had allowed me the luxury to work from home from time to time in the past.

I need to know how to approach my boss to see if he’ll let me work out my remaining days from home. Any ideas?
