I am a student learning English.
I wrote this off the top of my head to practice speaking English because there is no enough time to think when talking.
Would you check to see if there are any awkward expressions?

Q : How do you get to school each day?

A : I usually use buses. I’ve thought about riding a bike but I am not used to cycling, so it might be a little bit dangerous for me to use it. So I gave it up.

Q : How long does it take?

A : It takes 10 minutes by car. However, including walking and waiting time, it varies from 20 to 40 minutes because buses don’t arrive on time.
I’ve walked from school to my home. I can’t remember the exact time but at least it took more than 1 hour.

Q : Why are cars ‘a fact of life’?

A : In my opinion, people’re already accustomed to such convenience. They believe that owning a car enhances the quality of their lives. Also, it is partly because people care about others’ thinking. They are afraid that they might be ignored if they don’t have something others have. As you can see, people are judged depending on how expensive car they have. It is undeniable that I sometimes feel small when I go to the resort or hotel and see others’ luxury car. My mind knows such comparison is pathetic, but I find myself look at people in expensive cars with envious eyes.
