First day, your beginning
So make it right
Because if you don’t
You’ll lay awake all night

Sometimes you can’t help but wonder
About that one lonely girl
Who didn’t do that
She’s always by herself
In another world

On a daily basis,
being teased
Nobody seems to realize anything

Misunderstood.
Out of place.
This is the story of that girl without grace.

She had no friends
No support on her back
Waking every new day, was like stepping on a crack
She felt so lost
She wanted to die
But then two words, changed her mind
‘Just Believe’
You have to just believe… in yourself.

Monday morning, it’s time for school.
Here comes our test, thank you Mr. Jules.
It isn’t so hard. Just remember your stuff.
But math isn’t on my mind, it’s that girl, opposite of tough.
I notice that, when everyone’s done, she’s still sitting there.
Not one question filled in, the paper is blank.
Kinda like her life, it needs to be cranked.

I come up to her, when she’s crying home.
I ask her what’s wrong, she says “leave me alone”
But then I explain, I’m only here to help.
We sit down together, “don’t you yelp!”

We get to talking
We get to walking
She tells me all her problems
Hell is knocking

If you think, for one moment, that your life is bad
Consider this: An alcoholic mother.
A father in jail, a brother on paroll, a sister who overdosed on heroin. They payed the toll.
That’s what happens, when you go around, you ruin yourself, you just keep falling down.
But oh not this girl, she is so different.
And that’s why I say, two words that brighten her day

Just Believe
Just Believe
Just Believe…
in yourself.
